Sharon Rende, AuD
Dr. Sharon Rende has been a leader and pioneer in Audiology in the Capital District for over the last 15 years.
Dr. Rende graduated from West Virginia University in 1982 with a BA in Speech Pathology and Audiology. She continued her studies at Ohio University where she earned her Master’s degree in Audiology in 1984 and recently received her Audiology Doctorate.
Dr. Rende has served as the president and vice president of the Capital Area Speech Language Hearing Association. She belongs to the Hearing Loss Association of Albany (HLAA), the Educational Audiology Association, the American Auditory Society, the Society for Ear, Nose & Throat Advances in Children (SENTAC) and the American Tinnitus Association. Since 1985, she has been a very active member of the New York State Speech Language Hearing Association (NYSSLHA) in many roles including Legislative
Chairperson, Continuing Education Chairperson, Chair at the New York State Convention and Association Editor of their newsletter.
Her professional recognition includes 4 Ace Awards from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA), Outstanding Leadership and Distinguished Service Awards from the New York State Speech Language Hearing Association and the titles of Fellow and Scholar of the American Academy of Audiology.
Dr. Rende currently serves as the Director of Audiology at the Capital Region Ear Institute where she has established a full diagnostic audiology program including Auditory Brainstem Response and ENG testing, as well as the adult and pediatric Cochlear Implant and Implantable Technology Program. Dr. Rende sees new, follow up, and post-op patients in the office.
