Our Approach to Your Care
Our approach is to combine the least invasive with the most effective treatment available, involving both surgical and nonsurgical spine physicians.
Treatment options are considered “conservative” when they are non-invasive (such as medication) or markedly less invasive (such as injections or physical therapy) than surgery. As a general rule, surgery for lower back pain is considered if conservative back treatment fails and the lower back pain and/or leg pain persists for an extended period of time, or when someone is unable to maintain a satisfactory ability to function in everyday activities.
When conservative measures don’t resolve back-related pain, surgery may be necessary. Our team of highly skilled surgeons and allied health professionals are committed to excellence in all areas of spine care and bring a high level of compassion, experience and specialized training to our patients.
