Karen Praisner, RN
Karen began her nursing career in 1982 working in hospitals in Arizona and southern Utah. She received her RN from Empire College School of Nursing.
After moving to New York State she specialized in neurosurgical nursing where she met and joined Dr. Edward H. Scheid Jr., helping to build Capital Region Neurosurgery. Initially Karen assisted in all aspects of patient care and coordinated and scheduled all surgeries. As the practice has grown she has also become a certified MRI technician, registered polysomnographic technologist and supervisor of the Imaging, Nursing, and Sleep Wake departments. Karen also serves as the Purchasing Director.
Karen is an animal lover and environmentalist and helps a local organization care for homeless kittens.
